New Ash Green v Catford & Cyphers IV - At home, New Ash Green won the toss, chose to bat and made a confident start, openers G Freeman (22) and M Ives (31) chalking up a partnership of 60 before the fall of the first wicket in the 15th over. I Mellor (40) and M Bushe (24*) also made significant contributions to the home side's total of 149-6 from their 40 overs.
After tea the visitors had more difficulty getting going, with a steady loss of wickets, their No3 was unable to find a teammate to stay with him, leaving them in some trouble at 36-5 at that 15 over point, R Wills (4-13) rather ruining their campaign. With New Ash Green bowlers not giving much away, wickets falling regularly and E Quantrill (2-14) eventually unseating R DeSilva (36) in the 26th over with the scoreboard finally on 60, the visitors hung on until the 30th over all out for 75. M Syed, M Ives & L Lipscombe also picking up a wicket apiece and Wills adding a runout to his 4fer.
