East Kent Feeder League - 46 Overs per side
New Ash Green (4 pts) 137-9 (46 overs)
Sherwood (19 pts) 138-3 (23.2 overs)
New Ash Green lost by 7 wickets
For only the second time this season New Ash Green were invited to bat first, but sadly without the success of the last occasion. Luck wasn't on their side early on when a ball well down leg side flicked Matthew Quantrill's foot and rebounded onto off stump. Marc Klus went soon afterwards firing a full blooded drive straight at a fielder, but Martin Pickering and Vic Mayers played a solid partnership to set some sort of foundation for the innings. However once Mayers went for 15 the middle order perished playing perhaps over aggressively, with only Andy Mayers making double figures. Pickering's long vigil ended with a top edge for 32 and it was left to Matt Clark to play another promising innings, joined briefly by Arron Ward, who's one scoring shot was a huge straight six, and then kept company to the end by Keith Bushell.
Sherwood were denied maximum bonus points and extra overs by the last wicket pair, but the target was none too challenging for a team that generally score quickly. They chanced their arm early and the ball didn't quite go to hand, while the bowlers mostly responded poorly to the pressure, though Mick Sumner certainly troubled both batsmen for a while. Vic Mayers pulled off a magnificent piece of fielding to catch Jones backing up too far, but was denied by an umpire perhaps not expecting the sudden shy at the stumps. However New Ash Green, and Keith Bushell in particular, benefited from another doubtful decision soon afterwards when a thickish edge by Dan Boorman was missed by both bowler and umpire. Bushell followed up with two more wickets courtesy of a good low catch by Matt Clark and a good low bounce to Phil Jones, but it was all too little too late and Sherwood cruised to a win with nearly half their overs remaining.

Sherwood's second team didn't take the bat second option, looking to fill their boots as they had done in the first game of the season. Whilst not quite able to reach the levels they did in that game they were assisted by numerous dropped catches, and Laura Boorman followed up her century in the first game with 77 in this. There were two other scores in the forties before the bowlers got a grip and picked up a few wickets towards the end, Dan Lewsey having comfortably the best figures with 4-36 in 12 overs.
In response New Ash green were again unable to make a real impression, with Joe Elisak playing a lone hand for the second week in a row, this time making 73. Only Dan Lewsey with 10 and James Porter with 18 were able to join him in double figures, but he at least ensured a respectable total and it took a brilliant slip catch to remove Jasper Holliday and prevent New Ash Green from seeing out the overs.

A very slow pitch for New Ash Green to bat on. After being put in to bat, John Harley insisted he was going to bat first anyway, breaking the habit of a lifetime. The slow pitch caused Ben Cooke many problems, with the majority of his shots being airborne, giving many chances early on, but none being taken. Quantrill set himself down and was set to try and bat out for as long as possible. Eventually the slow nature of the pitch brought the wicket of Ben Cooke when he lobed the ball up for the fielder to take an easy catch. This wicket brought Dan Lewsey to the crease, who was due to play a very determined innings, but his innings had luck it in also. Both the batsmen marched on, as Quantrill kept scoring, and did not give as many chances away as some of the other batsmen. After Quantrill managed to get his century, he was cleaned bowled. Bringing Kleanthous to the wicket, who was determined to have a chance to swing the bat. After getting a good 2 runs, he was running for another 2 when he was run out, bringing Bobbyer in for one ball, and getting a leg bye to finish the innings on 177 for only 3 wickets.
Then the bowling started, and with Lemon bowling up hill with Harley J, bowling from is usual end, both managed to keep the runs down, bowling economically but bowling without success. Harley insisted that he needed wickets, and that is what he got. Freeman bowled two very expensive overs, but one of them brought what Harley J was asking for, with a good stumping taken down the leg side. Then the damage was truly done, when Lewsey took 3 wickets in an over, and got the batting team very worried. The first of which came from a very good high catch by Quantrill at first slip. Next one came off a good caught and bowled, and the final wicket was bowled straight through the gate, and Lewsey was due for a hatrick in the next over. Freeman bowling the next over looked bad conceding a four down the legside, before he came back with a flighted ball outside the off stump, and another stumping was taken by Harley D. The batsmen left very upset with the decision. Then the overs ticked over, and another wicket fell to Freeman, with a catch by Bushe at gully, and a rank longhop brought Freeman another wicket, when a very good catch was taken by Quantrill at mid-on. Bushe was then brought on, and eventually took a wicket with a ball hitting the stumps. Freeman finished the innings off by getting another wicket caught at Gully by Bushe. Freeman finishing with his best figures for NAGCC.
