Saturday 6th September & Sunday 7th September

Lower Halstow v New Ash Green
Saturday 6th September 2003

No Game - New Ash Green could not raise a side

Hollingbourne v New Ash Green
Sunday 7th September 2003

Kent Village League Match - 40 Overs

New Ash Green 43 all out
Hollingbourne 45-0
New Ash Green lost by 10 wickets.

This has to be one of the most embarrassing weekends in New Ash Green's history. First of all on Saturday a club that has been raising three teams all season could not raise a single XI to play one of our most long-standing and friendliest opponents, then on Sunday a severely understrength XI came up against the unbeaten league leaders looking for a final win to clinch the title. The final result was pretty inevitable, but the manner of the defeat was not - basically Hollingbourne played well and New Ash Green played poorly. Charles Duguid and Keith Bushell both made double figures and can be excused for the batting, the rest of the team were awful and Dominic Adolphe couldn't even manage a pair of white trousers. Hollingbourne knocked off the runs in less than 6 overs. They were a good side, but they weren't that good - this was a simply abysmal performance.
